Your journey begins at Entebbe International Airport, where a warm Ugandan welcome awaits. Our Alpha Adventure Safaris guide will meet you with a smile and your name on a signboard. You’ll be transferred to your comfortable lodge in Entebbe, where you can relax after your flight and enjoy your first sunset over Lake Victoria.

Today’s scenic drive takes you from the central lakeshore through rolling hills, tea plantations, and lush savannahs to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for zebras near Lake Mburo, bustling local markets, and roadside wildlife. Arrive in time to enjoy an optional sundowner at your lodge overlooking the savannah or crater lakes.

Destination: Queen Elizabeth National Park
At sunrise, head out on a classic African safari across the Kasenyi Plains. Look for elephants, buffalos, lions, leopards, and Uganda kobs. In the afternoon, take a leisurely boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, one of Africa’s densest concentrations of hippos. You’ll also spot crocodiles, elephants at the water’s edge, and a variety of birdlife.

Drive: ~5–6 hours / ~160–220 km depending on sector
After breakfast, travel south through scenic highlands and terraced hills to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to almost half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Depending on your lodge choice, you’ll arrive in either the Buhoma (north), Rushaga (south), or Nkuringo (southwest) sectors. The rest of the day is at leisure, with the option to take a forest walk or enjoy cultural interactions with the local Bakiga or Batwa communities.

Destination: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Today is the highlight of your journey, an unforgettable encounter with a mountain gorilla family in the misty rainforest. Led by experienced rangers, your small trekking group (max 8) will follow forest trails until you come face to face with these gentle giants. Treks last between 2 to 6 hours, depending on the group’s location. You’ll spend a magical hour observing them as they feed, play, and rest.
Note: Gorilla permits are limited and must be booked well in advance. Participants must be 15+ years old and in good physical condition.
Gorilla Trekking Sectors:
- Buhoma (Silver) – northern sector, moderate treks
- Rushaga (Gold) – southern sector, steeper trails, more groups
- Nkuringo (Platinum) – southwestern sector, most challenging but most scenic
Accommodation: Same as Day 4
Drive: ~9 hours / ~470 km
After breakfast, begin the return journey to Entebbe via the scenic highlands, coffee plantations, and traditional villages. Your driver will ensure plenty of comfort breaks and a lunch stop en route. You’ll arrive in the late afternoon or evening, depending on traffic and flight times. Airport drop-off is included.
